If anyone thinks that VW was the only one to fudge the numbers then it's not in this universe.. All auto manufacturers exaggerate, but at least with VW we don't have airbags killing occupants or the myriad of serious risks that other car companies seem so willing to dismiss as casually as a raindrop.

There is truth in engineering, but when it comes to dealing with a severely corrupt agency like the EPA, it is not an even playing field.
Just driving down the road should clearly illustrate the quagmire...

Just because things are overlooked sometimes, doesn't mean they are not illegal. ie. jay walking, hanging air freshner off the rear view mirror, headlight/tail light tint, different color bulbs or HID lights in non-HID housings, seatbelts, loud music etc.

CT has a lot of outdated laws that the law enforcements do not care about. I think it is easier to drive around and own a car in CT than NY.
On the bright side, CT has no toll. Taxes take care of it.

Only if it obstructs the view of the plate identification itself, to me that doesn't obstruct the view....but that's the problem, when laws are "interpreted" differently

woah woah woah.. slow down here.. who said its illegal in CT? 99% of cars in CT look like his .. also CT used to be a no front plate state.. then they started issuing front plates .. so no body cares about it.. cops don't enforce it.. i've never had a front plate on any of my cars.. however if you piss off a cop and tehy are looking for something you could get a ticket

Keep a fresh coat of wax on that plate frame... they are not cheap and tend to fade and peel. Audi no longer sells them due to complaints...

Thanks for the heads up, already coated before install, Standard Operating Procedure for my OCD. I knew the risk, kudos for discontinuing to sell product and return the remaining ones to Audi.

Not ironic at all, but I can't stand dealer plates. I refuse to let them even put them on when I get a car. I also had to physically stop them from drilling into the front grille for the front plate...he was walking toward my car with a handheld Craftsman drill.

Also, I've never understood the point of blanking out your license plate on the internet. You realize thousands of people see it every day, right?

My dealer knows I will not buy the car if they drill out the front. Yes, I know people see it every day but, not even hundreds in my case. I prefer to keep it local at least vs. the world wide interweb. If they want it, they will get it, but at least, make them work for it a bit.

YES!!! Especially if you drive in a state that thinks they need to throw down a billion pounds of salt on the road if the forecast is for flurries!!! My CF plate frame peeled and faded in 2 seasons!!
