    ECU swapping help!

    Hello all,
I currently have a 02 B5 stock that I swapped to 6spd. I was going to reprogram the ECU to 6spd spec but came across a APR stage 1 flash tuned ecu being sold here and rather have that than just stock ECU. Question is will it be plug and play? The APR ecu is from an 01 not .5.. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Im a still new to these cars as I got mine about 2 weeks ago but this is pretty simple to search for...

2000 Tip S4 = B box ECU (interchangeable with J Box but requires VAGCOM engine recode and a Hitachi MAF and housing)

2001 6 speed S4 = H box ECU (interchangeable with M Box but requires VAGCOM cluster recode)

    2001 Tip S4 = J box ECU (interchangeable with L Box)

    2001.5 6 Speed S4 = M box ECU

    2001.5 Tip S4 = L box ECU

    2002 6 Speed S4 = T box ECU (Interchangeable with M Box)

2002 Tip S4 = AA box ECU (Interchangeable with L Box)

Also this has enough information as well...

With that being said I assume the APR 2001 is an H box and your car is an M box (assuming its a 2001.5) so there looks to be a compatibility issue with the clusters aside from that it is plug and play. Check your ECU and see what letter it has on the end of it.

Again I am new to this so if its incorrect please feel free to correct it! Hope this helps

    Looks right to me.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.
