    B7 RS4 cam holder

I am doing a head gasket in my rs4 and having a hard time locating the cam holder tool. It is different than the one for the S4's and all the searching I have done just shows the S4 tooling. There is no hex to hold the cam on the rs4 like there is on the S4. It looks like it used the 2.0 FSI cam holder but I can't find anything that says yay or nay. Who can enlighten me on this?
    Thanks

The RS4s use the same kit as the 3.2 V6 FSI. There are threaded holes in the back portions of camshafts under the valve covers and right before the timing area. The tools are like a U shaped bar with two bolts. It goes across the camshaft ladder frame and each bolt screws into the camshafts.

I can look up the number later on but I hope that helps for right now.

By the way, why you have to replace the head gasket? The head gaskets on the FSI engines were usually always pretty stout. Usually the rear upper timing chain cover o-rings that stop the coolant from mixing oil would fail from age and cold temperatures.

Here OP, I used these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o01_s00, but as Jimmybones said, its usually the oring at the back of the engine. That was my issue and Blakes I believe.

Merry Christmas everyone. I found bad news yesterday. Scored cylinder causing my random engine miss. Now trying to figure out what to do. Looking for a block if anyone has one.

Dude, that is a big jump from what you posted before. Can you post more info about the car? What is the actual problem that you noticed? What diagnostic steps have been done? What parts if any have been replaced?

RS4s don't have a steel block. They have an Aluminum block with hard silicon crystals that the rings ride against just like the B6/7 S4s and other V FSI engines.
