4yr/50k mile Audi Care ... Worth it?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey all!

As some of you know I am ordering a brand new 2016 Audi S5. I was speaking with the dealership and I was able to negotiate getting Audi Care for free (4year/50k miles). Anybody ever purchases this/have this and let me know if it is all that? Thanks!

Free is free. I have purchased Audi care and find the cost worth it. As long as you plan on using the dealer for all scheduled maintenance. If you price each service individually, it adds up to more than the $800 (my cost) for Audi Care.

Yes yes yes. You'll end up paying for how much Audicare costs in like two services anyways.

If it's free, it's worth every penny!

But, if it's free then the dealer is getting its money somewhere else in the deal.

My take on these things is it is only worthwhile if you will save more on maintenance than the price of the package. I don't buy them because I tend to move through cars quickly at times, and thus would not likely recoup my cost. On the other hand, if you keep the cars for 4 or 5 years, then it should be worth it. Unless you wreck it and its totaled.

Having the work done at the dealer builds good will with the dealer. When you finally sell the car, what it worth to be able to say all service done at the dealer? Audi care, if you read exactly what they will do, is a glorified oil change most of the time, somewhere in there though is a tune up, which would cost you more by itself than the price of the Audi Care. Also, while you are there, make sure you say hi to the GM, get to know the service writer, etc. If you are a golfer, get yourself invited to the Quattro Cup golf tournament. The golf tournament is all expenses paid, and if you win the local tournament, the finals next year are at Pebble Beach!

There are now two versions of Audi care. The regular Audi care and now Audi Care Select.. If you dont drive a lot you might get caught not being able to use all the services before they expire. From Audi's site..

    https://www.audiusa.com/myaudi/servi...audi-audi-care

Bit confusing as to the actual expiration date/mileage but basically you have to use the pre-paid services before they expire regardless...

I got my car used, previous owner purchased audi care, passed on to me which is great, especially because he only used one service. I paid for the extended plan on top, so covered til 115 k km.

If you read all thats being done, its mostly just an oil change and a bunch of "checks and inspections" to make it sound like they are doing a lot of things.

Major thing besides the oil change is probably spark plugs and transmission fluid change.

If you are planning taking the car to an Audi dealership for all your regular service then it is worth it

This. It's pretty funny how into Audi Care some people on here are. It's only a few oil changes and your typical complimentary multipoint inspection. The dealer wanted to sell me Audi Care Plus after the original expired. Only three more oil changes for $1500. They claimed it was such a good deal as the 55k serivce was $800 alone (oil & filter, air filter, cabin filter). Not to mention the oil change intervals are way too long.

But hey, there is a sucker born every minute.
