Q5 - 3 questions about the climate Control Fan Speed

Hi,

I have had an Audi Q5 for a month. Every time I start the car the fan is at 11. Really noisy and unnecessary. So I click the fan button and bring it down to 4 or 5. I do this every time I turn on the car...put on seat belt...adjust the fan.

I went through the MMI settings and couldn't find anywhere I could set the default fan speed.

I read here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...trol-Fan-Speed that if I take climate control off automatic then the fan won't go up to 11.

Three questions:
1) Is there a way to set the default fan speed? (I think the answer is no)
2) Is there a work around for this, or do I have to manually adjust the fan speed every time I turn the car on?
3) How can I make sure that my climate control is not on auto?

I found that by leaving it on auto and then setting the temperature I want the fan will slow down by simply raising or lowering the temp knobs closer to ambient.
There is probably a way to vagcom these settings but I have not tried to change the defaults myself yet. The next time I use my cable I will poke around in there and look.

I'm on my second Q5 and have never had this problem. I keep mine set to 22.5° calculus and on auto. The only time my fan spins up like you mention is when i select front window defrost.
