    Xenon Headlight issue?

    Hey guys,

Sorry if I post this in the wrong spot but I'm new here. I've been having a problem with my 2001 S4. The passenger side headlight will flicker and turn off about 5 seconds after I turn them on. The drivers side light is fine, and both of the bulbs are brand new. Also I noticed that the xenon bulb on the passenger side is pointed down, toward the front bumper. You can tell the difference of the two sides just by standing in front of the car, the drivers side is much better. The left side also flickers before it goes out, it'll flicker about 3 times in a minute span when I turn the lights on, then it'll cut off and completely go out. What could be the problem? Just to recap, the problems are:

    1. Passenger side headlight flickering/ completely goes off in a minutes span of turning it on. (it turns on when i turn the lights on and off, but then cuts out again in a minute)

    2. In the same passenger headlight, the xenon bulb is pointed down, toward the front bumper.

Thanks for reading and I'd appreciate any feedback or solutions you have.

    Sincerely,
    Vishwa

Just the bulb is pointing towards the ground or the whole projector? Have you swapped ballasts side to side?

It seems like the bulb is pointing down, like it fell out of a bracket or something. As for the ballasts, I highly doubt the previous owner had done that.

P.S. Bought the car a few months ago, and had to fix somethings to get it back to running condition, but I haven't tampered with the headlights in anyway, except for switching the d2s bulbs.

Hmm.. not sure what to say about the bulb. If only the bulb itself is pointing down it sounds like something's up with the socket or it's not sitting in there right? How can you see the bulb from the outside? I can't see my bulbs at all through the projectors

The reason I asked about swapping the ballasts is if you had a faulty ballast the issue would follow it to the opposite side of the car

My car does the exact same thing. I assumed it was a ballast going bad. Hasnt done it in awhile... *knock on wood*
