OK, I'm only at 10,000 miles, but it's been a year since my 5,000 mile service so it's time. I just moved back to the DC area so I'm away from the dealer that sold me the car, which I trusted.
I called Audi of Tysons Corner, which would be most convenient for me - they want $913.19 for this service. No joke. More than the cost of buying Audi Care.
I called Audi of Arlington, which advertises a $69.96 oil and filter change, and an $89.95 "executive service" described like this: "Oil change, multi-point inspection, and car wash. Any 5k through 25k service completed in 90 minutes or less, including complimentary car wash and vacuum." They said, no both of these are "just" oil changes, you need the 15,000 mile service. We charge $725.97 for that. I said, but it's just an oil change with some visual checks. They said, well, we lubricate some joints.
I called a local independent shop that gets great ratings for German cars (and does some motorsports work). They said they'd do the oil change and every check in the official list for $265.00, with another $110.00 if I need a brake flush.
I like to do my service at the dealer during the warranty period. My last car was an Infiniti - they never charged me more than $150-200. So I'm tempted to just buy Audi Care and go with the most convenient dealer, but I'm not sure if I trust them. WWYD?
