The shop recommended this route because it's a claim you can make without taking a hit on rates. It seems as thought if you were finding products that would ultimately cost less that it would help the insurance company but i'm not really sure how they work so.
OEM is usually more expensive than aftermarket. it MIGHT not be the same case for your ecodes though. lets say u want an aftermarket rs grille ( cost 300 ) and the OEM one cost 500, they would get u the rs grille ( if u want ) since it will save them 200. im pullin the numbers out of my ass, but that's how it works
ecodes itself is pretty pricey. n/a spec headlights might be the same or less so it really depends. UNLESS u can find them urself for cheap, buy it, and have them reimburse yu.
