I've been reading about rotors for a few hours now over the past week.

I had Centric blank on my alero with HPS pad and it served me all years long even during cold canadian winters.

On the skyline, I had DBA 4000 slotted with HP+ pad and never felt anything wrong with them.

With the S4 platform, it's a bit different ; Performance upgrade aren't as good as it is on my previous car and there's so much you can do to gain performance. So, I'm going LW 18inch rims ( 19.4lbs) with sticky 200treadwear summer tires instead of the peeler. Shaving 40 lbs, Hoping to feel a difference there.

Now, i'm trying to figure if the 2 pieces rotor are worth it or not. Sure, you are loosing 5 lbs compared to a 1 piece rotor, but I believe most of the weight shaving is at the hub which, I would think, have less of an effect than wheel because it's more far than the center of rotation.

Second thing that got my head scratching is that most rotor are getting bad reviews ; slotted cause vibration, drilled can be filled of slush and loose traction, drilled+slotted will go throught pad quicker. 2 piece will cause vibration after 6-12 month of driving.. etc.

Thought please ? especially first hand experience of people who winter drive their car :)
