So I'll start by saying I've tried putting LED's everywhere I can in the car where they will actually "work". That has seemingly been limited to interior lighting as the LED technology just wasn't quite there to be bright and reliable enough. I ran across these LED's white looking for some plug n play ones for the fiance's 2016 Subaru Legacy and thought I would give them a shot.
So these are the ones I bought: https://www.jdmastar.com/index.php?r...&product_id=76
Though I don't believe their 1260 lumen claim, they are brighter than stock! But, before we get that far, you're also going to want some 50w 6ohm load resistors or else you are going to be hyper flashing when you have your turn signals on.
These are the ones I picked up on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00..._detailpages00
I hooked them up something like this. Just use a multimeter to determine which wire is the turn. Brown is ground.
The tail lights are extremely easy to remove. If only our headlights were this easy! Just pop open the round little flap in the trunk, use a narrow flat head screwdriver to unscrew the plastic bolt (you stick the screwdriver inside it). Then you just pull the taillights off. I started pulling near the trunk opening side.
Install is reverse of removal ;)
This was with the right side done so you can have a comparison.
