    Any idea how to remove headlight switch knob from the switch assembly?

    Hello,

    Looking to replace the knob face on the headlight switch assembly. I was able to remove the switch assembly but can not F'n figure out how to remove the actual switch knob with all the worn plastic for replacement....


    Any ideas?

    Two methods. The easiest way I have always done it to replace the knob is by cutting off the old knob with a pair of dykes. The other option is to remove the whole switch assembly using a small screw driver and pressing the two tabs from behind and then trying to remove it that way. Yes the cut method is untraditional but it can be done in 5 minutes.

    push the knob in and turn it left it should come out. Pretty sure there are youtube videos on it

    I want to saw a million swear words right now. I had no idea you could do that. In the past I had spent hours trying to stick a small screwdriver in from behind to push the tabs in.

    Still tho, if you are just removing the outside knob, I don't know how else to get off the knob besides cutting it off. I just replaced the whole unit with a Chinese one from ebay for $12

    That is exactly the item I purchased. New plastic switch face and knob. Thank you for the tip!
