Not much to explain, was trying to pass two different cars on two different occasions, press the pedal down 60% of the way and released and car would keep going, and to apply the brake super hard for it to disengage and slow down...... any ideas whats causing this? Car is a 2014 with only 20,000 miles, where would you guys do from here? cheers!

Yup, I checked the floor mats wasn't them, they weren't in the way at all.... literally the pedal was stuck in the depressed state, it didn't come back out, it released upon a hard press on the breaks.... I'm literally scared to go full throttle coz I wasn't sure if it would happen again

I'm sure the dealer would be very motivated to check it out for you at no charge. I'd get it to there service department ASAP and let them investigate. Could have thrown some codes but even if not, there are likely things they would know to look for for "unintended acceleration" situations.

Take the service advisor/manager for a ride and have him drive to WOT to replicate issue. Just make sure to sit in the back with 2 seat belts on.

if the pedal was pushed down and didn't come back up I would triple check the weather mats. This happened a few times on my dads tundra until I figured it out that the mat was the culprit.

    terrifying when it happens.

You didn't mention an accident in your original post. Was it front end damage? Maybe something is binding. If you press the pedal to the floor when the car is shut off (engine not running), can you get the pedal to stick in the down position?

It was side damage, the right side to be exact. Theres a thread called fender bender, it has pics of the accident
I'll have to try that test with the pedal and the car off and tell you

I said turning into a lemon (meaning maybe it is now), I didn't suggest it was a lemon from the start... quite the contrary she was a princess.

since most modern cars now use telemetry [drive by wire] but the pedal was stuck in wot position, logical deduction would lean towards a physical obstruction of some sort? if the drive by wire was all kiddywompus it might stick in wot position even if you never floored it or partial throttle...

Good to hear. Only had a throttle stick once. It was a 30+ year old benz sl with an american crate motor :) Killed ignition and put it in the grass.

Did the pedal it's self stay in the open position when you lifted your foot up or did the pedal rise and the acceleration continue? Sounds like it could possibly be a problem with the throttle body to me?

That wouldn't happen anyways. If the throttle was stuck open and he pedal was at 0% that's a serious redflag and the car will catch it immediately and possibly limit the throttle and throw a cel and close the TB. There are so many safe guards in the drive by wire its not funny. The computer is constantly looks at all 4 sensors and if one doesn't agree with programed strategy it will red flag it.

But an accident can do anything and everything to a car. You really have no idea oh bad an accident can screw something up that had nothing to do with or was far from the accident. Your sending a shock wave threw the car and it can do anything. So its not unheard that the accident could of caused it by tweaking the Acell pedal. But if you take it to the dealer I wouldn't tell them anything about the accident at first if the car is under warranty. Just to protect you and from them not finding anything and washing their hands of it with the "must be the accident" excuse.

I'm not buying it... sorry. Something doesn't smell right about this...
On two occasions you experience a stuck throttle (which I've never heard of with this car - MAYBE if your floor mat got wedged - but it's a floating throttle pedal so that would be a big maybe - and you said it was not the case)... and now you are dropping the lemon hint and saying you will wait over 2 weeks to tell the dealership?!... I'm sure if it really happened you would not be waiting 18 days to take it in... lol. makes no sense man.

The throttle has inexplicably stuck open on two separate occasions? I would have it towed to the dealer.

+1000. Someone could have been hurt or killed. Do not drive the car.

"Unintended acceleration" (never proven) is what almost killed Audi in the 80s in the US market. I'm sure they will be interested in looking at the pedal for you.

As others said, check floormats. It was known issue with several brands including Toyota and their recent infamous unintended acceleration media mess.

What is there not to buy lol?? I live in a farmtown in WV, no Audi dealership near me for 200 miles, and my daughters wedding is in two days and I have a lot of preparation for to do for that, as well as vacation after the wedding, so yeah I have other stuff on my plate
I have 5 other cars so I have transportation

So yeah, as soon as I have time to get it serviced I'll tell them about the issues
My mercedes and Infiniti are my daily drivers

As far as the tranny, sometimes I hear knocking in the engine when I turn it on, but I think thats just the cold start
Also I always noticed the car is slow to engage in drive or reverse when I switch gears
just two things I can't help but notice when I do drive it

Hm, just a bit fishy is all... especially with you bringing your lil accident thread back to life too.
If the repairs ended up costing 27k for that accident I'd also want out of it - and a lemon claim would be a nice way out
Regardless - If this is in fact truth then whomever repaired your car after the accident would be liable I'd say... take it back there (towed at their expense) and don't drive the car any longer. You don't want to accidentally run over your daughter's new husband or something now would you (aka obviously a public safety issues here)...
