    Dented Transmission pan need advice

So the other day driving home a truck changed lanes and kicked a fist sized rock into my lane that couldn't be avoided, sounded like it hit under the driver seat area at the time. I pulled over at the next ramp to look underneath and didn't see much so continued the 20 or so miles home without issue. When I got home I jacked the car up to get a good look and discovered that it looks like the transmission pan took the hit. Curious if you guys think it is safe to drive the car or I should keep it parked till I can source a new pan and ridiculously expensive fluid/filter kit.

Id keep it park until I could the pan. The filter might be crushed and can cause air pockets in the oil

OP, call your insurance carrier and see if it's covered under "comprehensive" since it was not your fault. Then figure out what your deductible is and if it's worth it for you to file a claim. In the meantime, I would drive is minimally as needed since I do not know what the pan looks like inside.
