Does the S4 have Active Noise Cancellation inside?

Several of my past cars have had active noise cancellation helping keep the interior really nice. It was especially noticeable in rain and during winter with slush, etc. I don't believe the S4 has that as while it's a comfy car inside, it's not as quiet as I thought it was going to be.

Just checking. Haven't found any reference to it having this feature.

Nothing. You bought the wrong car. Most trying to get their cars to sound louder not be quieter. Sell your car!

No, I bought the right car. Love it. Just at times I want it to be quieter inside. Not at all interested in making mine louder.

Yeah, it does sound good for what it is. 99% of my passengers that comment on it have no idea it's fake

What I really like is when they are on the phone hands free and I tell them "hang on, I have to pass someone in traffic" then I wind out a gear or two. Their reaction is usually priceless

Not sure why people remove that sound to replace it with a Roc Euro SC whine and make the car sound electric lol

Get an exhaust then you'll see why they turn it off. I turned mine off through vcds 2 day after I got the car. Hate the fake noise!

I rode in a car with exhaust. From inside... Not sure the $2800 noise maker outside makes a difference vs using the fake sound. With windows down its another story I guess

I surely didn't spend that much. I got awe 102 silver touring for 1590 shipped. No DP but didn't need them. The sound is definitely worth it. I'm coming from the subaru rumble and needed the sound for the Audi.

Yeah I got my Borla catback (one of the more expensive systems) for $1850. Unless you're referring to the valves systems.

I agree. When I was in my 20-early 30's the SC Whine on my previous cars was fun and cool. Now that I'm older and driving more of a luxury car vs sports car, the noise is a bit much. The SC Whine anymore would be plain annoying. The TRUFit intake provides the best for my interest. Better flow, just a hint of SC at low to mid throttle and a closed cold air intake set up.

That's exactly how my CTS intake sounds and operates. It's not obnoxious at all.

The sound system has VNC - vehicle noise compensation - that will adapt the audio volume based on noise detected by a mic in the car. So, not quite what you were looking for but you could drown out the rain with music! The menu option for it is called GALA and I think it only comes with the B&O.

Thank you! I wasn't sure what the GALA setting was for and had it off until last week when I decided to try it out. No rain or bad weather yet to test it out.

You can shut off or reduce the sound coming out of the Soundakator if your car has one. I'm 65 yrs old and have always thought my B6 and 2 B8s sounded too quiet. I actually liked the sound generated by the Soundakator in my 2014.

I find the cabin to be quiet in general. When I get out of the S4 and into another car, the road and wind noise is much higher. I think Audi did a great job of insulating it...I usually just hear the engine sound and the GALA from the B&O system.

You are right! But I can't justify spending the money just for the sound. But I have considered the X pipe mod. Always on the lookout for am used exhaust at really good price.

I did some more Googlage on GALA (Graduated Audio Level Adjustment) and it seems (?) that there are two kinds. The standard 'Concert' radio has a GALA setting that you can adjust from 1-7 and I assume it's just based on the speedometer. B&O comes with GALA Plus which uses microphones and sensors inside and outside, and the setting for that is "Auto" or "Active" (on my car with B&O, the only option is GALA Plus Active/Inactive and I don't see any 1-7 choices.) Anyone without B&O who can confirm?
