2001 Audi S4 2.7 Bi-turbo Tiptronic
History:
This car was purchased by my father certified pre-owned on December 11, 2003 with 23,480 miles from the Audi dealer that sold it new. It was used as a highway commuter (60 miles/day) for the next 3 years before being passed on to my mother to use as an in town commuter (10 miles/day). In June 2014 my wife and I purchased the car from my parents with 165,000 miles and it was used as her daily driver up until a few weeks ago.
My father is fanatical about vehicle maintenance so the factory maintenance schedule was followed to the letter with all major service being performed by the same Audi dealer that sold the car new. All oil changes were done with full synthetic and any issues that arose were fixed with all OEM parts. Since my wife/I took over ownership of the car I have performed all maintenance and repair work myself. This car has been on multiple road trips and has never missed a beat or left us stranded.
Noteable service items performed by me (165,000 -- 181,000 miles):
Coolant expansion tank
Auxilliary water pump & hoses
Intake gaskets
Temp sensor
Timing belt
Accessory belt
Tensioner
Idler/relay roller/tensioner
Water pump/gasket
Thermostat
Front struts (Bilstein HD)/mounts
Right front CV axle
Thermostat housing/o-ring (OEM cast aluminum replacement)
Noteable service items performed by Audi (125,000 -- 165,000 miles):
Front/rear brakes
All 4 tires (Toyo Proxes)
All catalytic converters
Cam adjuster seals
Cam Plugs
Valve cover gaskets
Left front outer CV joint
Left/right rear wheel bearings
I have a binder full of all service records and receipts for above listed items and everything else done on the car since 23,480 miles.
Cosmetically the car is in fair to average condition, the bumpers could use a re-spray and the car has its share of dings/scratches/nicks. There were two rust bubbles on the trunk lid around the license plate which I took back to bare metal and coated with POR-15 and top-coated with color matched paint. The wheels have rash and some chipping but are balanced and the tires seal just fine.
The interior is in good condition, there are no tears in the leather just normal wear for a 14 year old car. The multifunction display has the typical dead pixels and the rearview mirror is starting to delaminate.
Overall this is about as solid of an S4 as you will find with this mileage and all service records. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere and have thoroughly enjoyed owning it. My wife wanted an SUV/crossover instead and I don't have the resources for another toy or I would keep it.
