    was it soldered on ? if it was you run the risk of lifting a pad on the board, but still possible.
    try trading ecu's for $$$

    I don't think you are going to want to unsolder the GIAC chip and then resolder the new chip in. Its probably going to have to be reprogrammed anyway to fit the target car.

    It is easier just to transfer the programing to the recipient car. I did that with APR for about $50 (incl new chip). The chip itself is cheap, it is the programming that costs the $$$.

    As I recall, the chip is not soldered in, a socket was soldered on the board...

    What box is it for? and why are you selling?
    M box I believe, I will double ck. I am stripping the car down to almost factory, interested??

    But, like I said, evolution motorsports soldered a socket where the stock chiip was, and sent me the stock chip back in return also, there for I could remove the GIAC chip, and put the stock one back in place....
