Catless Downpipe with Billy Boat Exhaust

Really want my car to be a little louder, but not the ricer loud. The cat-back i have is better than the stock, but i heard that the catless downpipe would do the job in making a little louder. I know i would need an o2 spacer to keep the check engine light away. Just need some opinions on the downpipe and the sound. Thanks!

You can either get 034 or JHM test pipe or pick one up from eBay or Craigslist for a fraction of the price. I'd you want to keep it catless then my vote would be for whatever is cheapest. Many people early on when this platform was new would go with generic ones.

The ebay Craigslist ones are typically 2.5". I believe 034 and JHM are 3" in case you decide to go BT

Cool thanks! Would this be worth it or does it not make much of a difference? & is the sound actually good or is it a ricer sound?

I think it adds 10-15hp for a non tuned car, maybe slightly more when you are tuned. It opens up the most restrictive area of the exhaust so it is definitely worth it. If you don't plan on going for larger turbo upgrades then the 3" piping might be overkill. Someone else out Jake can chime in.

Catless downpipe and B&B catback drones pretty good. Be ready for that if you go that route.

I run the 3" 034 Cat Delete pipe on my otherwise stock car (down to the paper air filter currently). Not sure how much it adds in power, but it was a noticeable change from the semi-clogged cat I had on there. Car has good smooth power throughout the rev range, and doesn't feel like it "drops off" as much as it used to up top. It was like $150 from Europaparts a few years back. Noise level is mostly unchanged other than the leaky flex-pipe I created during the installation.

Install was a PIA on a lift, but its a good quality piece. Worth the cash and time IMO.

I just put a test pipe on my stock exhaust last week. I think it sounds pretty sweet. Can hear it a little more in the car but not too bad. I haven't noticed any droning. I can smell it sometimes but it doesn't bother me, and I am used to a motorcycle that smells the same.

Sound is slightly changed. I think it's mostly from the cracked flex-pipe behind the cat-delete pipe. Otherwise the exhaust is factory stock with 180k miles on it. It's slightly louder, but not enough for my wife to notice.
