    Wiper Stalk Replacement

    Let's get the basics down.

    Vehicle: 2001.5 B5 S4 6mt

Wiper stalk works as intended. All variable speeds work and the manual windshield washer works when you pull it (besides the washer pumps not working).

Issue: The buttons on the wiper stalk on the sides and bottoms do not work. I cannot access the DIS with these buttons to reset the driver time warning. However, the variable wiper speed switch on top does work.

It's definitely not the relay as that works as intended. I'm frustrated with the fact I'm not able to use the buttons to navigate through the center DIS. Before I go out and buy a replacement wiper stalk, can anyone tell me what's going on here?

Sometimes these things just quit, or stop working. I mean, it's 13-15yr old German electronics. I've replaced my cruise control stalk in both S4 I've had (would hold cruise, then quit). Nature of the beast. BUT, if you can find a guaranteed working one for the right price, might save yourself. The replacement process doesnt take long at all, so long as you have the triple star of the right size to remove the wheel.
