Not sure how to describe this failure exactly.

My 2010 Q5 3.2 has developed a skip, slip when traveling at highway speeds, after cruising downhill when transitioning to an uphill grade. If you maintain a constant speed shortly after the start of the uphill the transmissions seems to skip, slip, it is very brief. Maybe just a half second or so. Then the problem is gone.

I haven't taken it to the dealer yet, but that will be next week. My wondering so after searching all over is what could that be, surely an Audi with 100k miles on it would not need a new tranny? Any help is appreciated, my wife is threatening to switch us to Mercedes as he Q7 has the sunroof leak and the dealer wants $1500 to replace the tubing...

If I come up with a big bill I might as well sign up for AARP... Hoping there is a logical explanation.
