    Upgrades/Enhancements at Induktion Motorsports

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Taking my '15 to Ed and crew at Induktion Motorsports on Monday, to have CAI's and an AWE touring exhaust with resonated downpipes and black diamond tips installed, along with a mesh grill and carbon fiber rear valance. Finally some decent sound for the vehicle (and will disable the fake engine/exhaust sound piped in), and a more aggressive look. Photos after the work is completed coming. My only issue is deciding what else to do to the car. I don't think I'll be doing anything to upgrade the engine performance, and I'm satisfied with the stock suspension. So the rest would be cosmetic. Possibly CF side skirts and replacement of the badges. Not a fan of lowering the car, so that will remain as is. May go with another set of wheels when it's time to put Summer tires back on.

The Roc Euro intake actually adds a noticeable increase for the B8/8.5 S4s.

True, very true. We can take the S4 as it is stock and it would be fine. But there are always going to be people to want a bit more power, or even some cosmetic enhancement to make their car theirs. As for the intakes, I'm going with one by USP.

USP? Interesting choice. Worried the Stratmosphere/RocEuro (or any of the clones) is too loud?

No, not any potential noise from intakes. I was concerned about noise from a track exhaust, and that's why I went with the AWE Touring Exhaust, with resonated downpipes. I chose the USP intakes because Ed suggested them.

Thank you for your concern. Actually Ed is going to take care of me, as he always does to his customers. Plus the work should only take approximately half a day.

Just looked this over again, and now I now I know what you're getting at, that is, the last time I took my vehicle to AOSS for service. In that instance, they gave me a loaner, but the vehicle wasn't ready when I thought it would be. For your information, the arrangement was never for me to take the loaner home, but just to use it to run some errands in the area while my vehicle was worked on. Once I completed my errands I returned to AOSS and turned the loaner back in, and then stayed in the waiting area. I was not aware, nor was it communicated to me, that AOSS would get to my car when they could, based upon the fact that they gave me a loaner. In the end, what it all boiled down to was a breakdown in communication and expectations. For any work that I must have done at AOSS in the future, I will make sure I am 100% clear on the arrangements before dropping the car off. Again, thank you for your concern over my vehicle service arrangements.

I'm curious how much they charge to put coilovers or springs on the car. The DIY looks like a pita.

Check out some of the other intakes. USP isn't bad, just not usually a first choice.

Roc Euro is great, if you can get him to ship in a reasonable amount of time. There were stories of folks waiting months for theirs. That's when people started looking at other alternatives, including Ed, which is crazy given the amount of customers that probably ask him about doing intakes. John runs a small shop, but is def leaving money on the table. FWIW, I think he's straightened out the 'supply chain' issues. But there are other options to go with now (CTS, ECS, USP). Personally, I like my exhaust sound more than the intake whine, so I wouldn't have minded going with one of the others

Btw, op, I saw all of your stuff on Ed's floor on Friday. So, if you didn't know, your shipment came in, enjoy!

Yeah, the wait time was unreal. I bought an awe in the meantime... They are really quiet... Which explains why they were cheap and bountiful

Yeah, John had a ridiculous group buy and a LOT of people signed up. No way he anticipated that. He also got really sick iirc. To make things right, he kept that group buy open until he caught up on orders.

I realize that's a bunch of excuses, but he was a nice guy to work with if you can be patient. I'd support the guy again - good product and he doesn't screw people. Ditto unelson.

Yea, I like CTS' design. Much sturdier than RE. Don't know much about USP, but I know you'll get one on time or else Ed wouldn't have a relationship with them.

Yea, I thought it was the other guy too, but then he did have loaner issues. Serp clarify yourself! haha.

considering, a group of us just installed coilovers on a SQ5 yesterday, (the setup is the same as A/S4) the DIY isnt that bad. definitely helps if you have a couple people helping as well.

but to answer your question, i do believe springs are like an hours labor and coils are around 2 hours labor. and their labor rate i believe is in the low to mid 90s.

Many shops around this area quote "book hours" which is 4, I believe. Whether it really takes them four hours is debatable. Just goes to show how much you can really save if you do your own wrenching. Heard the real pita part is compressing the coils, but you can rent a tool to do that part.

I have spring compressors.... And basic tools. I don't want to take an entire day to work on it

Yeah, I recommend that people DIY for the B8s. The older cars tend to be stuck though.

    I did my 2014 S4.

It was a pain in the ass. And I had the correct spring compressor. there's just not a loot of room to work with in the back.

Come up and help. I'll put a steak and a beer in front of you when we are done. We can talk about our Subaru's from years ago...

    Upgrades/Enhancements at Induktion Motorsports

Induktion gave me a crazy low estimate for the SQ coilovers install. In the end I just wanted to do it myself bc of how new the car was figured it wouldn't be too bad and luckily had amazing help to knock it out. Granted it was brand new so the pinch bolts came out with ease. Shoot Ed a PM if u want to get a price on the install. PSS9's are epic. You can definitely do it yourself the rear gotta drop the subframe, but that's in the DIY so I'm sure you saw that.

Lol I not possible, it'll never happen for the SQ. Probably coming to a standstill as I'm about to start digging into my bike to get it ready for the upcoming season. I want sways, drivetrain inserts, drivetrain brace, and a few smaller things but going to hold off on them for a bit.

induktion did my coils...they have a package deal where they do an alignment too, and its the best deal from a reputable shop in the area. I know because i priced out all the competitors before going with Induktion. Ed and his team make you feel like family when you are there, which i like the most.

Ed and company did the USUAL outstanding job. I don't have the carbon fiber rear valance (problems with AWE) but I do have the USP intakes, AWE Touring exhaust with resonated downpipes and black diamond 102mm exhaust tips, and RS4 mesh front grill. Love the sound of the exhaust, as I finally have an aggressive sound to match the Stage II upgrade, the black diamond exhaust exhaust tips look kick butt, and the grill looks awesome! Oh, and the sound of the supercharger whine is GREAT! And yes, we removed the fake Soundukator piped in sound!

Yeah, Induktion pulled the fuse for the fake sound and it's sitting in the ash tray.
