I've had that same issue before. It only happanes during extreme cold Temps. My car is parked on the streets. Temps drop to about 30 overnight and if it's anything below 40° out, it'll make that sound but goes away in less than a minute or so. Ironically my car is at the dealership and they said it's fine on that side( tensioner isn't bad) which I found surprising since they always coming up with an issue to get extra $$
So yeah. Maybe it's the tensioner, maybe it's just due to weather. As long as it goes away as temp rises. But then again, keep a close look out to it.
I still want to get the tensioner replaced as preventive maintenance
