Hey guys,
I have a 1998 1.8T with 90k on it that was left in a garage with a dead battery for a few months. It is my understanding that with B5s this can cause a glitch with whatever computer stuff deals with the throttle body and can cause the car to have weird idle issues and stall. I've been searching around for a while and I've see a lot of people with this issue, but no where near as bad as me. My car's idle jumps around from 800 to 1300 rpm and as soon as I hit the accelerator and the engine goes above around 1300ish rpm the car stalls and I can't even get it out of my garage. I know that there is an incredibly easy way to fix this with vag-com but I really would like to avoid paying that money so I bought this vag-com ripoff http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o08_s00 and now I'm following one of the review's instructions on how to get it working on a more modern computer. Its super annoying dealing with xp virtual machines so I was wondering if anyone had done a throttle body alignment like the one in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zrmhDw_v7Y without using vag-com, or knows of any thing cheaper I can buy to solve this. And yes I've tried all of the sitting in the car with doors and windows open on the car on but not started stuff that has no actual affect on anything.
Thanks ahead!
