Anyone know where I can go to get this done in the Vancouver/Portland Metropolitan Area? I'm willing to drive a bit for a good trusting mechanic. I just don't want to pay the $900 they're asking from me. I know its a quite a bit of labor. Any help is appreciated. 1999 A4 preface B5 1.8t quattro

They are excellent in my opinion... Not sure what they will charge but they are knowledgeable.

It's pretty easy to do. Idk why they would charge $900. Open fill hole first I think it's 15mm hex, undo drain plug, undo the 6 8mm triple square, move axles out of the way, the axle flange has one 6mm hex bolt in the center, take out flange and fish out old seal.

Damn you make it sound so easy lol. I'm pretty novice with this car, I just got it.

I find it more amazing that you took a 99 to the dealership in the first place. Did you make a wrong turn somewhere? I don't take my B5 to the dealer just out of courtesy to their invoice calculators, and being limited to only 7 place values...

They were cleaning my sunroof drains, and did a courtesy safety check, and recommended them.
