    Strange noise

    Hello all,
I have a strange noise coming from what seems to be below my right shoulder (left hand drive) and it sounds like a ratcheting noise when I accelerate from start in first and sometimes second gear (manual trans). It sounds like a gear winding up and then winding down as I let off the gas. At a steady state the noise is gone, and it does not always occur. The car is a 2008 3.2 6mt.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,
    George

Can you make a video of the noise? I have the same car no problems like this. Is the noise high pitched? Is it constant or does it have breaks?

My window stopped working recently though, probably the wires got damaged again.

I tried, but the sound did not come through. The sound could best be described as marbles rolling back and forth if that makes senses. It only happens when the car is cold and I accelerate in 1st and 2nd gear for about 1 second each time. It sounds like it is coming from the transmission tunnel just behind the drivers seat.

I tried to replicate the noise you described last night, this morning on my way to work, and on the way home. I didnt hear any noise coming from under or behind the driver's seat. Sorry :(
