Hi Mike,
Welcome to the forum. Hopefully I can help answer some of your questions.
1. There are many Audiziners that currently work at dealerships. Based on the help I've received from Iconoclast in the past I would suspect they work at an Audi dealership somewhere in the USA.
2. You
can order your 2017 Audi Q7 now. This requires you to put down a deposit ($500 - $5,000) the deposit depends on how you spec the car and your dealership's policy.
3. The 2017 Audi Q7 is being produced as we speak. Audi is building up stock and preparing for delivery to the US dealerships in the February-April time frame. At that point you can walk on a lot and leave with the car same day, but right now there are no 2017s for sale in the USA. Any Q7 you see on the lot is for demos and dealer staff training.
The issue you are encountering is that the new Audi Q7 is not a car that has existed for many years, this is not the same Q7 you can buy from 2015, but the 2017 Audi Q7 is massively different from the previous Q7. The car is almost worthy of a different name :). I understand your frustration in being ready to buy, but there are no cars to fulfill your order in this calendar year.
Recently I saw (what I suspect was a glitch) on Audi Minneapolis's website for 17 Q7s in transit. I don't know if these cars are customer orders or just a dealership order to get some on the lot. They are no longer displayed on the website, but given they showed up on the website 2 weeks ago I'm guessing they will show up in the next few weeks (correlating this info with VW's shipping schedule).
Again, welcome to the forum. I realize this doesn't give you the exact results you are looking for, but hopefully it helps some. Best of luck in your future car purchase.
