Happy Holidays..Got in a Fender Bender, Looking for some advice

So I decided to let my roommate take my car 1 mile down the road to the store quick and of course he gets into an accident with a truck. Nobody was hurt and the truck is fine, yes he will be paying for this all, however:
-passenger side bi-xenon headlight housing is shattered
- ill need a new corner cap (I wanted to do a CC mod anyways).
- Ill also need a new right fender and have it all repainted.

I am located in the Glens falls, NY area 45 minutes north of Albany, NY

I do not have comp/collision on my car for financial purposes as I am a full time student and own it outright. Accordingly, Im Looking for advice to head in the right direction. Any advice is welcomed

Had a similar fender bender happen to me on the same side too. Bought a used fender (luckily already painted obsidian black) for $75 on the boards from a wrecked car part out thread so that was somewhat of a direct swap. Can't tell the damage of your front bumper but it looks like most of it can be buffed out or touched up with black paint for now. And depending on the extent of the damage to the headlight, someone on the boards sells replacement plastic covers for our headlights for a rather decent price (half the cost of a used bixenon for two plastic covers IIRC).

Any time spent finding a good condition fender that's already the right color will be worth the effort.

Thanks for all the help guys, I will look into all of your suggestions, you're all awesome. Also, He will be paying for all of it hes just not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to self car repairs, I want this done right i don't trust him retrieving parts.

Today in the light I was able to do a battle damage assessment and determined that Ill also need a bulb for a blinker but I think the side mount intercooler is all ok

of course this has to happen during finals week and the holidays

I was able to get a black fender in "almost perfect" condition for $195. That seems very reasonable considering i wont have to paint it. Thank you

Good to hear you're getting it sorted out

Although, moving forward, you should really put full coverage on your car imo. There are so many different situations (out of your control) that could leave you with either a huge multi-thousand dollar repair or even a total loss where you are now out the 5-10k your car is worth. The the risk for reward (savings) just isn't there and you're leaving yourself open to a substantial financial hit trying to save monthly.
