Oil Capacity

I hate to start a thread on this but I have searched already. The B8 S4 oil change DIY says to get 8 quarts of oil while I see others posting that the capacity is 6.7 quarts. Can anyone please confirm this for me so I could fill to the correct capacity this weekend. I know that I need to purchase a dip stick but I forgot on my last ECS purchase.

FWIW, all the kits I see are 7 liters, which is 7.4 quarts.

I'm doing my first one this weekend, but bought two 4.4L jugs since they were on sale.

I think it is officially 6.8 liters, which is just over 7 quarts. I've never personally gone over 7 quarts, but some of that may have to do with how you drain the oil.

6.7qt is a safe bet, and you can add more slowly while checking the level gauge in MMI or with a dipstick. 7qt seems to be the consensus on this forum. Might even depend on the method - top extraction vs drain plug.

I put 7.2 qts in every time. Never had an issue. B8.5, no idea where I read it, I assume the owners manual.

Thanks guys, I bought 8 quarts of Mobil 1 European Formula and will put a little over 7 quarts in. Actually this will be the first oil change I have ever done even though I have done very many other workings on cars.

I put a full 7 L of Liqui Moly couple months ago. MMI and dipstick read just a notch short of max.
