Brought the RS to Auto Engineering today for full JHM Exhaust, Intake Spacers and Carbon Clean. Can't wait to pick it up on Friday!!! Rick is a beast with Audis. Not only does he work on most of the RS4s in Massachusetts he owns one himself. My baby is tucked in for the night next to good company...

Nice! I too have a black RS4 (not a cab, though, but with full JHM exhaust) and a Sepang RS5.

Are you running JHM downpipes too? Catted or nah? I'm debating my exhaust options, but as you know MA is draconian with emissions inspections. I don't want to have any cat CEL's pop up. I'd wind up in a MAC center explaining why i hate the environment while getting my car reverted to stock.

yo matt, this is Alex, we met at Whym a couple times.

JHM DP's do come with an o2 spacer (90 degree bend) built in so you should be good

I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow!!! It will be my first time hearing a full JHM in person.

I did opt for the catted downpipes primarily to reduce noise level and secondly to keep from smelling like exhaust everytime I drive with the top down. Alex is correct they come with O2 spacers welded on so you won't have to worry about inspection. You do have the option to run catless as well but you will need a tune to get rid of the codes. Let me know if you want to meet up so you can hear it in person.

Not stupid at all and, in reality, I like them equally, just for different situations and for matching whatever my driving "mood" is. They both put a big smile on my face. It might just come down to whether I want to be under the visual radar screen (if so, RS4 b/c RS5 is real attention getter) or under the auditory radar screen (if so, RS5 b/c RS4 is pretty loud). The RS5 might come out ahead on more counts if I'd spend the cash to throw an AWE or Capristo exhaust on it. As is, its pretty quiet, even with sport mode on.

Rick, not to threadjack, but do you media blast for carbon cleaning, or do manual exfoliation with picks and solvents?

Walnut/media blaster last time I was there. Rick has seen my '08 Sprint Blue probably 5-6 times over the past 18 months (mods, service, etc) and while I may have had a hiccup or two the service has been fantastic and Rick always seems to be concerned with how she is driving even if I haven't been to the shop lately.

Here's a shot from the CC that Rick did in mid-July of 2014...
