    Terrible vibration, thud on highway

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I have had this 3 day course to attend this week that required me to go on the highway... This am I developed a terrible vibration of 50 and thud SOUND almost as if I had a flat but surprisingly enough no check tire light. I get there and it's too dark to check when I come out this afternoon I look and no nail no flat. Fast forward: highway again at 5o it's back I get off the road to a parking lot and find this

So suffice it to say I've been tediously picking tar and Rock off my tire. Soooo annoyed. Anyone have any other suggestions to get rid of this completely. It sooo much better after two hours of removing and picking it with my fingers and scraping but I have still much work to do!!!

Anyone have this happen to them what did you do.
I will post a pic later of what I have done

never had that happen, but my recommendation would be to remove the wheel this weekend, and use a very stiff broad brush and scrub the hell out of it.

Don't let the tar remover get near your wheel weights, assuming you have the stuck-on types. Might soften the adhesive. Good luck!!

Damn, that sucks. Pandi isn't that dedicated and would never hurt your car.

Is there tar on the underside of your car? might want to put it on some jacks and check.

I will get under there this weekend. It's bad enough on the tire and upper control arm... I'm hoping its isolated there so I can focus my attention on the tire and not need to do additional work.

Damn sorry to see that. Last night on the turnpike coming back to Harrisburg from Philly there was a mattress and frame in the road. I avoided all the big chunks but hit something. Luckily no damage. I hope you can get that cleaned up relatively easy with the wheel off.

2 hours and maybe half off. I am going to need to take the tire off to really clean it. As someone else mentioned.

It removes tar pretty good. Read about it on a few other car forums.

OP - with that picture I think that you have an excellent case to state highways for a claim. They are not allowed to allow access to roads in that condition.

I would even try the wheel and tire road hazard coverage if the tar doesn't come off.

    ***********UPDATE***********

So after two hours of picking and than letting it sit for a day I ordered the tarminator and it arrived today so I pulled the car out of the garage and started working on the car WITH tarminator and her is the result.

So yes it works well this is after 45 mins scrubing with paper towels and throwing water on it. Much improved still some spots but ad you can see better. What a pain in the as@ but hopefully the tire maintains its structural integrity

Too cold out to finish maybe next week when the weather improves I will hit it again. But at least I can drive it now. Which I'm going to do now to test the tire.

Do looks like at low speeds it's fine but as soon as I hit 5o-55 there's vibration from the tire I'm hoping there's not permanent damage so in going to have to take the wheel off and get a good inspection ..... Will see what's up

That sucks man. Least you didn't need a new wheel/tire after you fell into a giant pothole - like I did. Look at the positives, you get to use this as an excuse to buy a RS7.
