You'll love it, especially when it adapts after a couple hundred miles and a few cold-start cycles.

With the new player in the tuning game in the last 6 month, maybe it would be a good idea to do a big thread to sum up every tune possible ?

Yeah I think it's getting pretty close to being a finished product. Tony has put a lot of time and effort it to making this right. Glad you enjoyed the ride ;)

I have the EPL dsg tune. its just perfect for the street. better than stock in every way: faster, smoother, more responsive, more intuitive. with his stage 1, its a great budget upgrade that turned my B8 S4 into the B8 RS4 that never sold here for about $1300.

Extra fuel volume. E85 requires approximately 30% more fuel flow than gas.

Some cars may not need the upgrade. You would have to log to see. If indeed you need it, its not expensive or hard at all.

Full E85 would definitely require the upgrade. The cutoff seems to be in the 40-50% range depending on the car.

prob worth switching out the fuel pump over risking running lean. the HPFP runs ~$400 plus install. there's some good E85 information on this thread started by solo motorsports:

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...lo+motorsports.

they have an e85 tune for the B8 platform (but not the B8.5, yet). worth a read to learn a bit more about E85 and its tuning.

You can log lambda (air:fuel), and long-term and short-term adaptations. If you search for my logging thread, it will show you where they are in VCDS, and has a few things to look for in regards to running E85.

You will get a lean code when you run too much E85. I would recommend logging for anyone that runs an E85 mix, but it's an absolute must if you want to run over 25-30%. As I mentioned above, there is no way you can run more than 40-50% E85 on the stock fuel pump without going lean (maybe you can got a few % points higher, but that's the ballpark). Anything over that 50% range requires a fuel pump upgrade, and a supporting tune.

Put 5 gallons of E85 in, then fill the rest with 91/93 and you're golden.

I talked to Tony about e85, which I will probably do next summer. He was saying that some stock hpfp Can handle full e85 but there is not really a way to definitively tell unless he tunes your car specifically. My guess is audi had different suppliers with some having better specs than others. I'll just buy a new hpfp rather than risk lean.

why is everyone clammering about e85? I mean how much more power will I see if I went stage 1 or 2 and then got the hpfp how much do you all estimate? is it really noticeable vs 93 like whoa or like ehh just a little bit? It's less fuel efficient but more earth friendly, people speak of carrying jugs of it in there whip but that's just due to scarcity of stations yet i am still fairly interested in it - do the gains make it worth it or just that the 400$ pump gives you that flexibility?

e85 burns cooler, so it's effectively an octane booster. while it doesn't burn as efficiently as regular fuel, it generally costs less. so unlike race fuel, you can actually run it for everyday driving without breaking the bank. the only other downside is that it's corrosive. most modern cars are outfitted with fuel lines and other components to withstand the corrosiveness, but some cars need some modifications to run higher concentrations of e85. lastly, most unleaded fuel has some amount of e85 mixed in...i think it's around 10%, but i could be a little off.

Pretty much spot on. And that's the answer to the other part about the installation of the hpfp. The E85 also causes problems for our stock pump, I believe.

You can run considerably more timing with E85. Typically more than even race gas (high-20's).
