Thumbs up Redline Speed Worx (RSW) APR Stage 3 Supercharger Install on 6 Speed S5

The modern Audi S5 is a great car. It’s not the fastest, the lightest, nor the smallest. But it does lots of things very well, and we happen to think it’s a great GT cruiser. There are very few cars out there that are able to offer the all-season prowess combined with the big coupe body with a competent drivetrain. If there was one thing we would change about the S5 from the factory is the power. It’s not slow from the factory but it is such a well sorted chassis that you can tell it’s just begging for a little more motivation.

The stock 4.2 V8 waiting patiently:

Unfortunately for most customers the stock S5 is thought to be the best a car can get. For those enthusiasts who are aware of the work that APR and Magnusen have put into designing a supercharger kit for this vehicle, much more power awaits.

This particular owner had a certain CTS-V that was giving her issues on her commute. Rather than purchasing a new car, she had a great relationship of this one and just wanted one thing…. To be able to leave the CTS- V in the rearview from here on out.

So we got to work, removing the factory intake manifold and exposing the intake ports for a carbon cleaning service.

Then went in the APR HPFP’s and the Supercharger itself:

After the Fuel Pumps and Supercharger were installed the Carbonio intake from APR was the finishing touch to the engine bay. Freeing up some additional horsepower and adding a nice tidy upgrade under the hood.

Something tells me this S5 is going to have no trouble blowing the doors of almost anything on the roads this winter!

Seriously jealous and wishing I could afford to do the same!

how much in total would a project like this cost. I have been contemplating for years now on getting this done and I want to pull the trigger so badly but is it worth spending all the extra money or just getting a new s5 in the near future.

    All advice is appreciated.

You're looking at about $16k before labor and clutch (if manual). Is it a lot of coin? Yea. But you now have an all wheel drive coupe putting down almost 600hp on pump gas, doing 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. I'm not sure you can find anything comparable at a similar price point.

    Past:

    - B7 avant, 3.0t swapped
    - B8 S4, Stage 2+
    - B6 S4, not stock
    - B5 S4 Clone, built motor, 2871r
