Please help me confirm my audi is a b8!

Hi all,

Long time stalker, second time poster.

I recently purchase a 2016 audi a4 quattro, sline, and i do believe it is a b8, but i have been reading that 2016 models are b9 or possibly even b8.5.

The reason i ask is because ill be pulling the trigger on an air lift system, and need to know if the b8 system will fit my vehicle.

Any help is much appreciated!

It's a B8.5, which is the post-facelift version of the B8. For suspension sake, B8 and B8.5 should be the same. Grilles, headlights, valences, etc., however, will change from one to the other.

Congrats on the purchase btw! Suzuka is a rare and beautiful color.

The car pictured is not a B9. The NA market doesn't get the B9 until 2017.

Me too. That front bumper is beautiful and compliments the front wheel arches nicely. It should have been a bigger option on all years leading up to this.

I'm not certain if B8 and B8.5 kits are identical - I'm leaning towards yes but cant confirm because I'm poor and riding static.

I would call the company you're trying to buy this from and ask them to make sure. B8 and B8.5 might not be the same.

based off the topic title of this thread, i was coming in here with my flamethrower activated but I feel the need to compliment the B8.5.5 which you have. Its the post-facelift facelift before the actual model change lol.

I don't think this is true. I was in the dealership last Friday and the sales person I was chatting with said they should be arriving in spring of 2016. Like within the next 3-4 months.

It would still have a 2016.5 or 2017 designation most likely, as to avoid any potential confusion. GM did it with their pickups and SUVs in 07.

They may be there early but they'll be 2017 MY cars. IIRC they should be on lots in the summer.

To the OP, nice looking car! And as far as I know the suspension underneath the B8 and B8.5 are the same (in terms of mounting points etc.).

There is no change in any of the suspension or geometry from the b8 to 8.5. The only real differences come in OEM suspension options. This however would only matter if you were trying to go with springs on OE struts. Being air, they are identical. Now Air it out!

While 100% true, the designation is still important and needs to continue to be understood and used because there are B8.5-only compatible parts in existence. Mostly aesthetic, but even certain hardware (like CTS & ECS Catch Cans for example).
