new project. not a b5 still an s4

i've wanted to build a car pretty much since i was a little kid. the wife and i have driven basically just b5s for the last 7 years so i aimed to build a b5, but the fact that they can be a tough car to work on, and for whatever reason seem to be unreliable we decided to go a different route, so welcome the family project car.

anyway got this car, along with a 95.5 s6 parts car for a great price.

and since audizine lacks a real c4 car forum i figured i'd post here.

Nice! Always have wanted a C4 but never found a decent one around me. Build it and keep it. It will last forever.

it needs suspension work pretty badly, so I'm in the process of gathering all the stuff i need. ill have to make my own set up, cause I'm not paying 2k+ for the 2 bennet set up which i heard isn't really all its cracked up to be.

within the next week or 2 i plan on having the aan out of the s6 i have in order to strip and send to get hot tanked. haven't really decided on how far i want to go with it.

ob3r, ill be keeping it the wife and i are car hoarders we don't usually get rid of stuff. but this is for sure one of the concrete keeping forever cars.



as far as what I've done to it already.
b3 euro wheel
euro tail center section
gave it a through cleaning
fixed the odometer (stupid brittle planetary gear was missing a tooth)
swapped in the s6 seats because they had 100 times less wear and my hollow headrests were split and i didn't like it.

i need to fix the tach, although I'm fairly certain it is a problem wit the cluster board and i have no soldering skills, at the moment its not to important but i'd love to get it to work
and the front bumper is cracked

Check out motorgeek for the Ur builds etc. QW is also a good option. I had one and it was a great car. Suspension stuff is really limited for aftermarket, but there are guys out there. If you cant do it yourself, there is an Ur guy who will modify stock parts for a coilover conversion. The OP in the following link used to do it, not sure if he does anymore but this has the info for the coilover conversion:

Looks like you have a clean body and paint job. Lots of Ur cars are in rough shape sadly.

yeah that guy still does it, ill be sending my stuff to him shortly once i acquire all the other stuff needed. i wish that motorgeek had more traffic, i posted in there like a month ago, thread is still on the front page. and quattro world might have the worst layout that a message board could ever have. s2 forums everyone is over seas so its not really a great source either.

Yessir. No one believes me that I didn't plan the red, white and blue. All of them were purchased used from the same family. The URS6 and B6 from one brother, the B5 from another brother.

...unfortunately, my wife's Jag is the most reliable of the entire garage. Who would have thought that would be the case?
