FYI: C7 S6 Sales Numbers in the U.S.

The RS4 community kept tabs on this pretty closely via the RS4 registry, and I consolidated some of those details on my former site. I haven't seen anything like this here yet, and thought some folks might be interested (or it could just be me ;) ).

AoA will give you details on sales numbers (at least for the US) if you give them a VIN, so I went ahead and gave them one for each model year (with mine being brilliant black under the wrap, I searched for other black ones to submit to them...obviously there's more than one black :/). Without further ado (and now also documented on the new S6 site I'm starting to build up), here's what they sent back to me:

2013: 1,809 - Model Year 2013 Audi S6 4.0T QUATTRO S TRONIC models sold in the US.
• 115 - with Brilliant Black exteriors sold in the US.
• 109 - with Brilliant Black exteriors and Black interiors sold in the US.

2014: 1,309 - Model Year 2014 Audi S6 4.0T QUATTRO S TRONIC models sold in the U.S.
• 454 - with Phantom Black Pearl Effect exteriors sold in the U.S.
• 426 - with Phantom Black Pearl Effect exteriors and Black interiors sold in the U.S.

2015: 374 - Model Year 2015 Audi S6 4.0T QUATTRO S TRONIC models sold in the U.S.
• 9 - with Havanna Black metallic exteriors sold in the U.S.
• 7- with Havanna Black metallic exteriors and Black

2016 (to date, 9/27/2015): 546 - Model Year 2016 Audi S6 4.0T QUATTRO S TRONIC models sold in the U.S.
• 140 - with Mythos Black metallic exteriors sold in the U.S.
• 123 - with Mythos Black metallic exteriors and Black interiors sold in the U.S.

Not sure anyone cares, but there ya' go :)

If people are interested to add to this via sending their own mails to AoA ([email protected]) and posting back the results into this thread, I'm more than happy to take that info and expand on what I have documented so far for everyone to contribute to over time.

We've discussed the relative rarity of the S6 here a few times, and it shows on the street. I go months between S6 sightings here in the DC area. I'd venture to say I probably see more RS7's and S8's than I do S6's. I'm guessing my Oolong is probably a really rare bird.

Yup, that's pretty much it. I asked them if they could give all data for each year, but they will only do the color that corresponds to the VIN you give them.

LOL, normally I might see an S6 once every two months. I see RS7s, S8s, and S7s all the time here in the city.

Although I will say this, new car Karma caught up with me when I first picked up my car in April. A week after I bought it I went to this awesome Ramen place two blocks from my work. As I was walking back to the office to get my car, I saw 3 Phantom Black S6s and two with the 20" wheel option all within a block and a half. My rare bird was no more.

My wife gave me shit for a week, but still what the hell are the odds?!?

As an Audi enthusiast in Denver.... In order of appearance... Can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Q5. Next comes Q7's and allroads, (C5&B8). A4's pretty much everywhere. A5's numbers seemed to be increasing. A3's starting to see a lot of the new ones. A7's are abundant, and surprising see many more RS7's than S7's. Then comes A6/s6's, very rare to cross paths with either around here. A8/S8's, not sure they really exist.

Considering I never see S6's I'm surprised there are 4k of them, more then RS4s. I think there are just over 2k RS4s.

My A6 3.0t Avant is a real rarity with only 1700 in the usa.

I think 2015 was a short sales year due to the redesign.

2015 was still the old model, not the refresh. It was likely lower because the MY was shorter than normal and people knew the new one was coming out and decided to wait.
