Usually dont have to on a new one, but there were some stories about them getting knocked out in shipping.

It is good practice to reset all of them before install.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

If I had to put a number on it, Id say in the high 90's%. But they are your dice, not mine.

Is it already in, and have you already pushed the clutch pedal?
It it sometimes possible to reset them in the car if need be.

The clutch feels good when started and shifts good it's just I can't tell yet because the front axles aren't in yet... So i was freaking out thinking it was the clutch because it wasn't doing anything (Eg. didn't stall when clutch fully out in gear, and the car wouldn't move at all) but multiple people told me it's because the front axles aren't in yet.

It'll be fine. Don't worry- it'll adjust by itself but it can take a while...mine feels awesome after a year of driving.
What sucks is that Europaparts sells that kit for $350...

check it out brilliant black beauty of an S4, ironically I just researched the crap out of that because I installed the same one. here's a pic of mine with the SAC set:

they ARE preset but it is possible for them to fall out of adjustment. unlikely unless your ups guy doesn't like you.

see those vented looking ports all opening in the same direction on the mid point of the pp? if those grey tab looking suckers are visible like the above pic, you're fine.

What sucks even more is you can get a b7rs4 Luk repset from rockauto for like $150 shipped and easily make it work

    Holy crap, that's ridiculous!

    http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...nid=397&jpid=0

    $136.79 before shipping.

What's the deal with modding this for our flywheel again? Drill new holes in PP or in FW?

    Search button.
A "What clutch" thread would prob get some good answers, but def going to be filled with people bitching about using the search button

That clutch should last you a long ass time if you know how to drive and arent launching it all the time.

I know I know!! Dammit. But shit. I didn't want to screw with this thing later AGAIN because I messed up the flywheel step or used a 1mm shim instead of two or whatever. I've seen the couple threads where people (Nollywood? ) has done the machining to make it fit OEM...but ...whatever.
Decided to eat the $200 and get what bolts in with fiddling.

Is that B7/Rs4 clutch "better" than the B5 Rs4 ? I mean, other than being 50% cheaper...

It won't adjust itself back out. If it got bumped and snapped to the furthest setting, you are screwed and you will know it. The thing won't disengage at all.

But yea, its a one way adjustment. As the plate thins, the PP extends further out to make up the slack. It can't go backwards.

Yes, B7 PP has higher clamping force than B5.

Has anyone other than JHM actually measured these? Just looking for more validation that the b7 rs4 plate is stronger.

Also comes with throw-out bearing and pilot bearing, but not sure this pilot bearing is applicable to the 2.7T.
