First Time Audi Owner - need opinions!!

    Hi everyone, I'm new here!!
I finally got rid of my old, gas guzzling, money pit 2003 Passat W8. Although it was the most badass wagon ever, it got me through high school and college, so I decided its time for an "adult car." My parents have always had Audi's - (100 avant, '95, 98, and '02 (my first car) A6 wagons, 2005 allroad, '08 Q7, 12 Q5, and '13 A7) - so when my Passat finally needed its third transmission at 230,xxx miles, I realized that it was time.

I have been searching for months, going back and forth between everything from a 2003 S8 to a 2012 A4. I eventually decided to go somewhere in between and get a C6 A6, so the search began. I really wanted to get a 2009+, since my dad's current A7 has the 3.0 supercharged and it is absolutely incredible, but my post-grad-school-trying-to-find-a-job budget didn't allow for that.

Last week, I "settled" on a 2007 A6, 3.2 Quattro. It is Dakar beige on tan leather - both colors that I would absolutely hate on any other car. When someone tells me their car is gold on beige, I immediately think of an old Camry with an imitation fabric roof, or a Mercury Sable. The A6, however, pulls this color combination off quite nicely, and looks extremely luxurious while still having a bit of aggressiveness.

It is fully loaded - premium, tech, cold weather, convenience, adaptive cruise control, and 18" alloys. I'm overall very pleased with the car. It currently has 84k, and I got it from a nearby Audi dealer for just around $11k.

I joined this forum for 2 main reasons: what should i do to make the car better, and how do i make it last longer.

I am planning on doing at lease a little modding - i don't like to draw too much attention and I like sticking to oem. I plan on tinting the windows, since it looks good with the Dakar. I was also thinking of new wheels (possibly oem s6?) , but maybe getting the current ones painted would look just as good. Are there any other mods you all suggest??

Also, what kind of things do I need to look out for? I was so happy when I learned about the timing chain, so thats one less thing i need to worry about. The carfax showed that almost all of the factory services had been performed since new, but the dealer was unable to provide me with any physical records. What kinds of problems are these cars known to have, and is there anything I should do sooner than later??

Any comments or opinions would be great!!!

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the car! The best advice I can give you in short, is to search this forum for common C6 problems, mods, DIY maintenance, etc. There are have been dozens of posts before yours, so everything has been covered to the max. If it's something specific, we can try to assist.

Congrats on the new ride, as far as maintenance goes I've seen mine go from 82k to 162k in a little over 3 years, during that time the best thing I can say is don't ignore anything. I change the oil every 5k instead of the 10k "recommended", during these services a few seals have been replaced due to leakage. Mostly just keep up with regular maintenance and you should be fine. I've also replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the injectors at 100k along with a carbon cleaning which definitely helped. Mods wise they all look better lowered which give you a few choices from H&R springs to full coilovers. Any questions just ask as most are willing to help, though there is a ton of information on here if you search the forums.
