Recently, I have scanned the vehicle and cleared codes after I had a low oil pressure problem which the underlying cause was the PCV valve. I had a TON of blow-by issues. Now that that is all fixed, I am getting a low turbo boost issue with the P0299. Any ideas on where to start?

DV then waste-gate actuator rod. Make sure your DV is still in working order. Next check if there is any play in your waste-gate actuator rod. If you're under warranty or 70,000 miles, call AoA to see if you qualify for the turbo TSB.

Unfortunately I am at 77000 miles and it started just recently. So I don't think that I'll qualify for the TSB. What necessarily is the DV? I am a technician but this is my first FI car. So I am new to the turbo world.

Its your Turbo! I been through this journey. Just replace it. They have a issue with a turbos on certin VIN's and if your over 75,000 miles they can't do anything for you.

Can't and won't are two different things. You can always ask, as it won't hurt, but what they will do is a different story. I would at least let AoA check the VIN before I run out and grab a turbo myself. That said, replacing your turbo isn't that hard; provided you have all the tools.

OP - your DV is your diverter valve. If you can get the car on ramps or jack stands, you can get access to the DV from underneath and you can check to see if it needs to be replaced.

I have all the necessary tools to do anything I need to, and a full shop. Really trying to stay away from the turbo because I'm not trying to spend that much money.

You can get a turbo for less that I think you're expecting. I ended up replacing mine with a used K03 from an A5 with 20,000 miles on it. The turbo was just under $500, and then I grabbed the ECS install kit for ~$75; after that it's just your time and effort.

I would check your wastegate rod for play first however, because that seems to be the reason that many of us have received the P0299 code. I used the thread below to help diagnose my issue, although I didn't use the below thread for the DIY they explain. They have a link in there to to a ticking sound that can be attributed to the wastegate while coasting. I am not sure if you experience this, but mine was noticeable before I ever got an MIL.

For my DV comments, you can use the below thread from the B7 forums to get an idea of what to look for. It's not exactly the same, but its pretty close. First you'll want to determine which DV you have, and if it needs to be replaced. I recently replaced mine with a GFB DV+, for $140 just for piece of mind.

I do get a buzzing/ticking sound while coasting. Funny thing, the code disappeared once I got in the vehicle this morning. No CEL illuminated, which is weird because of VW... I'll look into it, I ended up not having the time I thought I was going to have yesterday so possibly today/tomorrow. Thanks for the help Ziti!

The code will still be stored in the ECU. The light will go off after the car meets the range of boost requested vs supplied. There has to be about a 5 or 6 psi loss before the light comes on. So usually you are losing quite a bit of torque in low RPM's and don't even know because the boost numbers aren't that high.

I wrote the DIY a few years and about 30K miles or more ago and my wastegate is still tight.

The MIL will come and go, at least mine did. I was in the middle of some family stuff at the time, and had my car in for Stage II of the oil consumption fix, so I waited until I got a definite no from Audi for a warranty replacement. Finally I just got sick of seeing the light, and the lack of power, so I changed the turbo.

You should ask since the code may have been there w/ the other issues you had. 2K over the extended warranty should be honored it being a known issue. You could be aggressive and just call AoA and have them work with the dealer.
