Actually, there are quite many differences.
    - HID kit on fogs is not really recommended way since it can blind on-coming traffic.
    - glare issue (when using standard d2s-based HID kit). These LED's are designed to have correct lighting beam pattern facing downwards to shine toe ground only.
    - Most 3000K HID kits do not give true deep golden yellow like these LED's. (PHILIPS LED's do give the most yellow color IMO. If you are fan of 3000K HID kit, we have them as well. :D)
    - Brand name. Philips is known for its quality.
    - BTW, these LEDs do give 2200lm (stock halogen is around 1200lm +/-, HID generally gives 3200 lm +/-)

Glad that you found bargain on those LED's.
You are not comparing these Philips to $5 LED though, right? lol

    A couple of questions

1: Do these already have resistors so a light warning isn't thrown?
2: I have the "cornering light" function activated thru VAGCom..... will these bulbs dim like the incandescent bulbs do right now?

    That is all.

They should not give error message as we already tested on B8 A4, B8.5 A5, Porsche Cayenne, and Porsche Macan.
    No fault was found.
Sorry but I'm not sure about cornering lights though...
It should dim down but at faster pace.

I have the regular white LED Philips X-treme Ultinon for my fog light.
True plug and play with no error. I have the 'cornering light' enabled as well and the led would also dim in and out (similar to the OEM incandescent)

I have a very similar set of Philips LED fog lights and they do work with the cornering lights feature.

Not sure why but these 2700K LED's give enough deep yellow color.
I think that these are yellower than any 3000K HID kits you can find IMO.

Will these help to improve vision during nighttime rainy driving? OEM fogs do a little since they are more yellow than the HID headlights but I would imagine a more yellow would be more beneficial? Would an LED bulb give the same effect as a standard bulb?

The OEM fogs do little because a 55w halogen bulb doesn't produce much more than a third of the output of an OEM HID bulb. On top of that, it's in a much less efficient housing. So they're hardly noticeable when the HIDs are already on. If you want something that produces noticeable light, you need something with much more lumen output than a 55w halogen bulb. As far as whether or not there are any benefits to yellow, there's a good article about that here.

Thanks for the info, that is actually a pretty interesting read. This is my first car with HIDs and they are great until you get on black pavement in rain. Lighter color pavement in rain seems fine but the blackest pavement makes the light bounce away as if the road is a mirror leaving me questioning if my headlights are even on. I've have never experienced this before I drove with HIDs. Maybe it has to do with getting older as well, haha.

Yes, yellow fogs are not for the look only but to increase visibility on foggy and wet road surface. It actually does help a lot.

Yes, if your headlights are on, the fog light on one side will turn on when you either use the turn signal, or turn the wheel in that direction. But it doesn't just turn on/off like they do when you use the fog light switch, they fade in/out, which is a concern for some lighting types, particularly HIDs which aren't intended to be dimmed.
