    Seat Belt Tensioner

    Guys
So, I'm convinced my passenger seat belt tensioner rattles at speeds around 70mph plus. I'm having difficulties getting my dealership to look at it. If I purchased a used seat belt tensioner, could I just install it myself? It looks like it's one main bolt and a few electrical connections. The cords are what concern me. If I switch them out and plug everything up, will the car need programming for the new belt tensioner or should it work?
I'm just worn down on begging them to cover warranty parts. Calling it a rattle is not the right word because it sounds 'broken' in there, if that makes sense. My only other thought would be the door handle but I'm pretty sure its the tensioner.
    THoughts?

I mean if you think your tensioner is broken, then I would demand the dealership to look at it, what if you got in an accident with a passenger and the seat belt did not lock up.

I could go up to Cinci I guess. I just don't want a $60k car that rattles you know? So what if, worst case scenario, I switch them myself? Any worries?

Not quite understanding what the challenge is. Just ask them to check it. I highly doubt they would refuse...

No programming needed to change the pyrotechnic seatbelt tensioner.

They're always hesitant to check out rattles, and sounds. I understand their perspective but they also know I'm a car guy and my family has done a lot of business there. I asked them to look at it a week ago and they thought it was inside the door. They said they wouldn't replace the door because it looked like someone was already in there trying to fix it and broke a door tab. Said the panel was 1800. You know how dealers are with rattles and such.
Anyway, I told them I didn't think it was the door and I still have the rattle and told them I suspect the tensioner. We'll see. I'm due back in when they get my lower control arms in which are on backorder.
