    19x9.5 et37 too aggressive??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

So I'm thinking of throwing on a new set of wheels on the Avant, and wanted to get your thoughts.

19x9.5 et37 all around are the specs, planning on running 2353519 so it'll have a slight stretch.

Do you think i'll have inner clearance issues? has anyone run this setup before??

any input, and pics would be appreciated!!

    Thanks!

    Best,

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there is a thread here somewhere devoted to wheels/suspension set ups. Wheel size, spacers, suspension, rubbing issues, and clearance. Might find what you need in there.

I run 19x9.5 et40 in the rear but with a bigger tire. 245/35

et 37 with a 235 will shouldn't be an issue, at least on the rear. Set the camber close to max though

I ran 18x9.5 et40 all around, although its super tight on clearance on the inside of the wheels. I would bet that 3 mm should help out on the inside, although with a 19 your ability to run a 235 is gonna be dependent on how low you wanna go. Check out this thread for some good info:

Tony is running pretty similar specs, so might be worth checking out:

235 on 9.5 is still a stretch, though. IIRC, 235 on an 8.5" is a stretch, so 9.5 definitely will be.

I ran 225 on an 8.5 which was a mild stretch in my opinion, so I imagine a 235 on a 9.5 will be similar. I can't go for meaty unfortunately lol

I run 19x9.5" et35 all around with 225/35-19 Hankook V12 K120's with no issues. I'm about as low as you can go running 19's static @ 23 5/8" FTG front and 23 7/8" FTG rear. My build thread that Pat linked (also in my sig) has more info and photos.

    225's stretched on a 9.5" isn't bad...

i ran 9.5 +20 in rears and 9.5 +30 in front with 225/35.. no issues on fronts but when i hit a big dip the tires would slightly rub in rears. no pull and im lowered about 2.5in all around

    - - - Updated - - -

but you may need a spacer about 3mm or 5mm to clear your front brakes with a +40 offset.. sorry your +37 you should be good..

you wouldnt happen to have a direct rear or front shot showing the relation of the wheels to the car? I'd like to see how far out theyre going to potentially sit!

I can get them, but note my car is set up for my track wheels and my alignment is far from factory. When I was low I ran factory toe and caster but added negative camber front and rear. I wanna say -2.5 front and -3.3 rear.

It looks like your current ride height in the front (or at least whats pictured) is almost the same as mine..and correct me if im wrong, but it almost looks like at this height the camber isnt necessary?

Currently on 19x8.5 with 235/35 i rub in the rear on deep dips or if i accelerate hard from a dig. So Im expecting rubbing on the 9.5 for sure, unless it gives me just enough stretch to clear.

Thanks for working on the pics! I appreciate it man!

thanks for the input! and pics!! I loove your car!

Do you have any rubbing in the rear at all? as i stated above, i currently rub on the 235, im wondering if i should just get 225's and have no worries.

    thanks again!

Thanks. I have no rubbing issues front or rear. I used to run a 235 on my 9.5" rears and had no rubbing issues either so perhaps you need some stiffer rear springs. I'm running 7" 750lb Hyperco rear springs to stiffen things up a bit which helps. I haven't messed with any camber adjustments, no adjustable control arms or anything like that.

Also, I should note that I have to run 5mm spacers to clear my front brake calipers. ET40 didn't provide enough clearance.
