How to enable Ambient Lighting Control in RMC Hidden Menu?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi, I have a C7 A6 with a MMI RMC. I searched all over the web for enabling the ambient lighting control and battery level via the hidden menu but all search results showed up were based on versions 0.8 or 1.0 of the hidden menu. Apparently the version of my hidden menu is 1.1 and after scrolling through all the options I can't find the "car" menu (which can be found in versions 0.8 and 1.0) where you can enable the ambient lighting control and battery level. I can't even find any options or menu that suggest something similar.

Can anyone shed some light? Thank you in advance for any advice!

Are we talking about the interior lighting in the door panels and footwells? On my U.S. spec car, I didn't have to do anything to enable the controls over how bright that is. I just go into the MMI and pull it up via CAR/vehicle settings or something like that.

Yes that's what I was referring to. I do not have the ambient light brightness control on my MMI and I really wanna to enable it so I can bring the brightness up. It is incredibly dim...

It might depend on which trim level you have. Other than that, you could probably unlock it with Vag-com.

Yes I've managed to access the hidden menu, but as mentioned, the options I have in there are different from what I see in versions 0.8 and 1.0

This is the hidden menu I have. There is neither "Car" nor "Carextdevicelist". Does anyone has any idea?

    Try these:

    or I found this:

    6. Activation of footwell lighting for vehicles without Lighting Pack / Ambient Lighting
This allows you to use the MMI to set the footwell lighting level while driving. Tested on cars with MMI 3G+ (Tech pack).

    [Select]
    [09-Cent. Elect]
    [Coding - 07]
    [Long Coding Helper]
Click on byte 16 and enable bit 6
    [Do It!]

Enter the Hidden Menu as in step 5 above.
    Select Car
    Select Cardevicelist
    Check "Interior Light"
    Return
    Select Carmenuoperation
Set "Interior Light" from 0 to 5
    Return
Press CAR to exit the hidden menu
    Reboot the MMI

Were you able to sort this out? I'm facing the exact same problem and tried to ask for help in this thread: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...25669&posted=1

Just came to my mind, that could someone with adjustable ambient lightning and VCDS give a little help? Change the brightness from MMI and check with VCDS that which adaptation channel (from 09-Cent.Elect) keeps changing?

No wasn't able to get the ambient light adjustment active. The main problem is that there is no “car” in my hidden menu. We have the same hidden menu RMC 1.1. I have been searching the web for months and couldn't get the brightness adjustment to appear on my MMI...
