Replace battery

Hi all, I have experienced some strange behavior lately, B&O not popping tweeters, wipers not starting, hard to start slow startmotor, and so on.
Was thinking its time to replace battery, to see if this helps.
Friend of mine with A8, said that he needed to use Audi garage to swap it, due to som coding required after replacement, is this correct, or can I replace with 3. party battery?

I've unhooked the battery when I installed my steering wheel and reconnected the battery after. no coding was required. maybe someone else can chime in if they have replaced their battery.

The coding is for diagnosis purposes in the energy management control module. Its not required but its nice to have for the tech having to diag any energy management issues. That being said anyone with a VAG COM can do the coding for you. That being said I would have someone with a vag com see whats going on with the car before I shotgunned a car battery.
