Been covered many times. Sounds good in S mode but somewhat quiet depending on your tolerance. It was def a cheap solution years back but most nowadays go with catback or full system...

Can't see it taking much more than an hour with a lift..

h pipe + piggies is a very popular choice--best bang for buck as some would say...for sound that is

I love the sound with the h-pipe & magnaflow DPs. With the exhaust flaps closed the car can still fly under the radar, open them up and it sounds great.

To add to this, Supersprint also has a mid-pipe available for the RS4, it utilizes a X pipe instead of an H pipe.

H-pipe adds just the right amount of tone from the factory exhaust.

Especially for someone who doesn't want to go all out on a full system.

Nice! I am in a similar boat where just a bit more noise would be awesome. Would it be possible for you to do a before/after dyno once you have it?

The performance gain is negligible. It does sound much better. Love mine. If you can afford it a full system is the way to go but for the money this is a great way to get a bit more growl and still doesn't attract too much attention.

yea i don't think I'll be putting it on the dyno, not worth it unless i go at least full exhaust.

just sucks how bad the canadian dollar is. this $250 mod is coming out to be over $500 CAD after shipping and handling to canada

i took a look at their site, seems to be considerably more $ for their x pipe. is that worth it?

You could just buy an "x" section, take it to a exhaust shop and have them cut out your center portion, and straight pipe, with the X welded in.... Would prob be better bang for your Canadian dollar and yield slightly better gains

    Now you did it! Hehe!!!
    Ok question...
Is there a significant power gains from an X pipe to an H pipe to justify choosing one over the other?

Also, I went to the Supersprint website and it looks like you have to buy some sort of supporting parts for the center X pipe section to work, and it ain't cheap.
    Thoughts?

    This the website?

There's a thread on here somewhere that explains Hpipe vs Xpipe in regards to power gains, and sound difference.

What's the diameter on the center part of the exhaust?
    Is it 2"1/4?
I was thinking going this route :

    That's what I'm saying.
All I need is the exact diameter to build my own without having to pay premium prices for exotic brand names.

Stock catback is 2.36" I believe. Custom route is always more affordable. Stepping up to a catback with proven gains is the best choice.
