Is it possible to retrofit the new usb charge/sync?

The new 2016 A6 have gone away with the ami and replaced it a USB port. Is there a way for us to retrofit this into the older model?

That's an interesting idea but there has to be software piece going along with that hardware and I doubt that the MMI from before MY2016 will have the software to go with it but who knows? The team who created that MMI system may have a good visionary.
