    K&N filter and intake question

Been reading on how the stock intake for my 03 A4 1.8t is actually better than installing a K&N filter and intake. Is this true? Looking for a solid intake, for a reasonable price. Any advice?

Are you talking about the cone air filters? Others on here have mentioned that the stock air intake is much more efficient than the cone styled air intake. Personally, I switched from the OEM air filter to the K&N filter. In terms of performance I did notice a slight increase in acceleration, but that was from a butt dyno. Perhaps others can chime in.

Your time and money is better spent elsewhere. Buy a drop-in k&n filter if you really want better flow but just keep in mind that better flow means less filtration.

Yeah I was talking about the cone one. But I'll probably just get a drop in air filter now.
