New to Audi - Question about AUX and Symphony II radio non sat

Will that item work with a Symphony II radio with in dash 6 disk non Sat from a 2004 Audi A4 3.0? Just looking to simply add an Aux input. The company has different contacts for the back of the radio. I think this is a great and inexpensive way to add a Himbox HB01. Does anyone know?

    Thanks

This would be pretty awesome to do. I put the entire listing through Google translate and came up with this:

"Only suitable if you own output via one of the radio with CD changer described!
The partial-necessary 20-pin connector adapters are available in our eBay Store!"

Hey may be talking about this?

If anyone knows anything about this, I'd be very interested as well.

Yes, that is the connector I've been looking for. I cannot see why this wouldn't work. But when you total up all the components involved, it seems more logical to go with this specific unit:

I made an offer of $35...let's see if they accept it.

Have you bought this or are thinking of buying it? If you guys do end up getting these and installing them, please please please post an update. I would love to have this functionality in my car and not shell out big bucks on some other known solutions.

thought about it. only reason I haven't is because my radio is poof. backlight is barely readable. volume adjustment is all over the place. if I go OEM I will definitely buy this because the whole tape deck thing is out of control lol.

    Upgrading to a Sym II + is a lot better than an add on adapter. Compared to the Sym II, the II+ provides the following advantages and features;

The Sym II+ has an AUX input already, with the selection to AUX audio source selected by toggling the CD button.

The Sym II+ Audio quality puts the Sym II to shame.

The Sym II+ has a more powerful amp in the HU.

The Sym II+ plays MP3 files recorded to CDs.

Sym II+ displays more song and track information.

Did I mention the Sym II+ Audio quality is a lot better than the Sym II?

Any low level audio source can be connected to the AUX IN terminals.

I know that there was a reason that I didn't want to upgrade to the Symphony II+ but I can't quite remember it. I think some people mentioned that you lose a lot of Radio reception or something along those lines. That or that the music coming in from the AUX wasn't really good quality. Correct me if I'm wrong though because if I am (or those people didn't know what they were talking about) I'm going to pick up a unit for sure.

the antenna amplification system used by the Symphony II+ is different from the Symphony II (And RNS-E), so radio reception can suffer in low-signal areas. Aux-in quality is not an issue.

Easiest way - the Symphony 2 has a tape deck, the Symphony 2+ doesn't. If it's a single din (vs double), then it's a Concert 2.

I haven't experienced bad FM signal quality that has any impact on most stations, only the most distant stations potentially are not received very good. All of the FM stations I care about are received fine. The Sym II+ antenna amplifier from the B7 can be used for the best signal quality overall.

FM does not really matter much to me because of the MP3 playback capability and I also have Satellite radio.

AUX low level audio input is the same signal quality as with the CD and external CD deck, and is the same for all Auxiliary audio sources connected to AUX input. The Sym II+ has a lot better audio quality, and that is true for AUX audio sources too.
