New SPEC Stage 2 Clutch

Hey Folks,

I just recently had a SPEC stage 2 clutch put into my B5 S4 and am wondering about some noise. I understand there is going to be some chatter there, but when coming out of first there is a wicked grinding noise.. but only for like the 1st 10 minutes or so. Is this just my pressure plate warming up? I'm only like 150 miles into the break in, is it possible this will just go away? doesn't seem normal.

The sound happens when you're shifting from 1st to 2nd? Or when you're starting from a standstill in first?

stand still in to first. I thought at first it was just getting used to the new choke point, but it goes away after a bit of driving so I'm pretty sure it is not user error.

edit: no noise in any gear once rolling.

Stock fly wheel?

Hmm. I'm leaning towards flywheel or something with the install possibly. I'm not sure how much different the current SPEC Stage 2 clutches are now, I installed mine (hate to say) 12 years ago and it never made the noise you describe. Worked like a champ.

Hey guys, talked to SPEC and got it up on a lift at my buddies shop, we went over everything and apparently they are notorious for the clatter and I'm just being impatient with break in. I'll let you guys know after a few more miles if it persists!
