    APR Stage 1 ($2k) vs Remap ($1k)

Hey everyone, I'm from New Zealand. Naturally, things are more expensive here.
I was recently quoted $2000 NZD ($1300 USD) for an APR Stage 1 tune at the only place here that does APR tuning here.

However, I have been quoted from somewhere else that they can tune for $1000 NZD ($600 USD).
My question is: Is it worth paying the extra $1000 NZD for an APR chip as opposed to a remap from the other guys? Thanks in advance

I apologise for not knowing much about tuning so please keep it simple for me!

Nobody else has jumped in here so here are my thoughts... If the person who is doing the open source tuning on your car has plenty of experience and some decent customer reviews I would tink it would be smart to go with them over APR just for the $$$. Have you checked with other major tuners...Revo, Unitronic, GIAC? I run a Unitronic stg1

    Good luck
