Passport Max?

Hey guys/gals,

I have a passport max. It works great but it won't click into its mount. So I decided to put double sided sticky tape and now it mounts. In order to take if off, you must take the whole sticky mount off. I can't stand that.

The GPS feature is a must for me. Actually I'm planning on getting the Max 360.

V1 with Yav1 on android device is so much better. Google it. Blows that escort out of the water. Theres more to a radar dector thn you think.

The little plastic clip on the detector has worn out so the metal part from the suction mount doesn't click in. I just put double sided sticky tape and slid it in. Mounted solid and no vibration.

I have the V1, although its nice with the arrows, the false alerts on K and X band are annoying. Also it doesn't have a mute button unless you push the knob. I looked online to buy a remote mute button but V1 doesn't seem to make one from what I could find. Just some home brew ebay specials.

I'm sure the V1 is awesome but having an app and my phone mounted on the dash every time look like a pain in the ass. I like the plug and play of the max (or max360 which is what I'm getting next).

My experience has been great with the max. It alerts so early that I have never been surprised. Built in GPS all the way!

Custom sweeps my friend. Just download the V1 app and you can set up specific sweeps of each band and get rid of those false alerts in your state. There is more to the V1 then you apparently know. When you set up the sweeps it essentially narrows the sweep and makes your detector sweep the wanted bands faster for a quicker alert. Once you set up the sweeps it codes your V1 and don't have to open the app ever. An update with junk filter and kpop off will help you tremendously with false alerts.

Find your state and set up your sweeps. It doesn't take much.

Many guys have mounted the knob from the concealed display for muting in various locations. Do some research, there is so much more to it then you think.

I did do my research...the sweeps and custom coding and frequencies can only be done if you have the ESP version of the V1. Unfortunately mine is not the ESP version...and the app will only give me a fancy front end display.

^Time for an upgrade. Once you set it with app you don't have to use the app ever again. Set it and forget it. It's quite simple. You can get a pretty good amount if you sell your version. Mine needed a $90 update so I sold it for 275$.

Does anyone else have the issue with BSM? I sold both my v1 and Max bc they drove me crazy with a false k band.

Upgrade the V1 to get rid of the BSM issue. Some say turning pop mode off helped but it didn't in my case. It's perfect now after buying the new one. Hey Scotty, you get anywhere on the free map upgrade yet?

Clocked over 150 miles with the new Max 360. No regrets. The magnetic mount is amazing! Very few false positive. In all cases, was alerted of police before I could even see them with my naked eyes (flat straight and curvy roads).

Like I said, Im sure V1 is great but the last thing I want to do is have an extra app on my phone to distract me from the road.

I prefer the Redline over the V1. I recently sold my redline and replaced it with the new 360 Max. I can't quite tell the performance difference, but it is there. The Redline also blocks guns from signaling the user their signal was intercepted.
