Best way to troubleshoot the 32-00 - Resistance Too High code?

Is there a good DIY how to get to it and remove the tensioner?
I hate dealing with those plastic covers (and their clips).

What does VCDS say the resistance is? I've never really messed with Audi airbag codes but on other makes I've fixed plenty of airbag lights by unplugging the connector and plugging it back in a few times.
If the resistance is a tenth of an ohm too high, or whatever the tolerance is, it'll turn the light on. Sometimes playing with the connector of the component in question will be enough for it to make better contact and lower the resistance.

    Worth a shot, right?

Should be able to get to it by removing the pillar trim

Similar experience here (N199). When that did not work anymore, I cut out the connector (yellow) and soldered the wires (for the notorious under seat connector, I actually spliced a short section of additional wire in to prevent the 'stretch').

Pillar trim: sounds easy, but based on past experience (B5 A4, C5 A6, B5 Passat), lots of other plastic needs to be yanked/bend/ and tabs broken.

Will only attempt if good DIY showing the tabs/clips locations and how to best get them out.

I've never removed the pillar trim so I can't help there. Interior is my least favorite. On the one hand, it's nice to work in a car and stay clean and stuff but I find it so frustrating. Under a car being functional is the most important part but with the interior it needs to look nice and not squeak and rattle and it just tries my patience lol
